Managed Care and Insurance Plans
Dr. Chambliss has made a careful decision not to be a participating provider for any managed care programs. Being such a
provider would mean that she would be employed by the insurance company instead of working directly for you.
Many of her clients prefer to work with a therapist outside of their insurance plans for a variety of reasons, such as:
- Usually insurance companies require that Dr. Chambliss give a diagnosis. This diagnosis goes into the records of the
insurance company and they may share this information about you to other insurance companies. In some cases you may be denied
private health insurance coverage or have insurance premiums raised significantly based on a past diagnosis. In a private pay
relationship, Dr. Chambliss will not release your private information except as detailed in her Agreement of Therapy
Services.
- Insurance policies can limit the number of sessions that they cover for your treatment. As a client of Dr. Chambliss,
you are not limited to a certain number of sessions or certain treatment protocol determined by the insurance companies looking
to control their costs.
- Because you are working directly and privately with Dr. Chambliss, decisions can be made together on the methods
used, rather than having these decisions made arbitrarily by a third party.
Dr. Chambliss can provide each client with a monthly statement which can be submitted to your insurance company. If you
are permitted by your plan to work with someone out of your network, you will receive reimbursement according to your plan's
provisions. |
