Dr. Amy Chambliss, Psychologist
Dr. Amy
Chambliss’s goal is to help her clients identify and utilize their strengths so they may overcome challenges.
Through this process, her clients establish and achieve personal and interpersonal goals. Dr. Chambliss’s strong
academic background, extensive clinical training, and experience have enabled her to give individuals, couples and
families the quality help they need and deserve. She provides a comfortable and supportive therapeutic environment in
which her clients work towards gaining a clear understanding of themselves and their relationships.
Dr. Chambliss utilizes various treatment techniques depending on the individual
needs of her clients. She focuses on changing ones thought process in order to end destructive behavior. While examining
past and present experiences, she works with her clients to understand how these experiences are influencing current
behaviors.
Dr. Chambliss is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist. She is a member of the American Psychological Association (APA)
and the California Psychological Association (CPA). She serves as a Board Member for the Contra Costa County
Psychological Association (CCPA). Dr. Chambliss provides psychotherapy to adolescents, adults, couples and families.
Dr. Chambliss earned her Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from John F.
Kennedy University in Pleasant Hill, CA. She completed her Bachelor’s of Arts Degree and Master’s of Arts work at
University of the Pacific in Stockton, CA where she studied cognitive-behavioral therapy, psychological research and
psychological assessment.
While attending John F. Kennedy University, Dr. Chambliss studied in the
Advanced Family Therapy program working in a clinical setting with families and couples. She also trained at the Contra
Costa Regional Medical Center in Martinez performing crisis assessments and treatment. Her post doctorate clinical
experiences at the Hume Center in Concord, CA and New Leaf Treatment Center in Lafayette, CA included extensive
individual, family and group therapy with adults and adolescents. Using her knowledge of Cognitive Behavioral and
Psychodynamic therapy, she helped numerous individuals suffering from chemical dependency, eating disorders,
relationship troubles, adolescent issues, mood disorders and chronic pain.
Dr. Chambliss is a staff psychologist at the Casa Serena Eating Disorders Program (www.casaserenaedp.com) in Concord, CA. She provides individual, group, and
family therapy to women ages 18 and older struggling with Anorexia, Bulimia, or Binge Eating Disorder. Dr. Chambliss has authored various
research papers on eating issues and adolescent self-esteem.
